Lykkelig Thanksgiving!!!
If I have it wrong, say it right!!!
Hampton Roads had a great Bazaar. Over 800 guests visited the bazaar. All the baked goods were sold by 11:30 so there is room to grow next year. All the vendors reported great sales. Seven new members were signed up and there are 14 other potential members so it was a great membership day and the members had a great time.
7 new members, that is great! Let’s hear from other lodges about their lodge Holiday activities; I know there is a lot going on from everything I read in the lodge newsletters!
Our 2009 Christmas Dinner and Juletrefest was a huge success with over 100 people and many children dancing around the tree! We also picked up several new members! We have changed our meeting times monthly from the 3rd Saturday of the month to the 3rd Sunday of the month as we had more children having sports and other activities on Saturdays. We still have special events during the week sometimes and sometimes on Saturdays but we have found most members like the Sunday afternoon slot as they don’t have to drive at night and can still keep their other busy Saturday activities without missing Lodge meetings!

District 3 had a couple of great membership months in November and December. We picked up 139 new members. We finished the year with 7982 members. That includes everyone includine Heritage members. This was the highest total since August of this year. Keep it up
We have set a date for the Institution of our new lodge in New Bern, NC. The Drammen Lodge 3-682 will be instituted on 20 Feburary 2010. More information will be put on the web site when available.

June Cooper (Hampton Roads 3-522)who provided the electronic support for the 2008 convention is working on a cd that covers the convention activies. I have seen the first cut and it is great. It will give everybody a great exposure to what happens at a District Convention. She will be having them for sale shortly. It will be a great program for a lodge meeting. It lasts about 28 minutes.
BIG NEWS Gateway to Florida and Dovre won the SON Fall Membership Contest bring both winners to District Three. They will each receive a check for $500 and a lot of bragging rights. Congratulations to both.

District 3 members earned 185 Sports Medals in 2009. That is almost a 40% increase over 2008. Lets shoot for 250 medals next year.
